Meet Lewis Williams
I founded Roots in 2014 with a simple belief: grounds maintenance should be done properly, by people who genuinely care about the results.
My journey started at Sparsholt College, where I studied horticulture and sports turf management. That formal training gave me the technical foundation, but it's the 10+ years of hands-on experience since then that's shaped how we work today.
In 2026, we expanded to become Roots Facilities & Grounds – adding cleaning services to better serve our clients who manage multiple sites. Same team, same standards, just a clearer name that reflects what we now cover.
I'm particularly passionate about sports turf – there's something deeply satisfying about preparing a cricket pitch or bowling green to professional standards. The precision required, the seasonal knowledge, the immediate visual results – it's where science meets craft.
Whether we're maintaining a large estate, looking after a commercial property for an FM company, cleaning communal areas, or caring for a residential garden, the approach is the same: do it properly, communicate clearly, and build relationships that last.
